Directions: From Phoenix, take US 60 to Globe, then north to Salt River Canyon and Show Low. Take SR 26 west to Heber and then to Payson. From Payson return to Phoenix via SR 87.
Length: Phoenix to Show Low, 171 miles, 6 hours. From Show Low to Heber 42 miles, 45 minutes. From Heber to Payson, 55 miles, 1 hour. From Payson to Phoenix, 78 miles, one hour and twenty minutes.
Rating: Excellent; great stops along the way.
