Native American Family Exploration Camp
While families stay at the resort kids 5-12 can take part in a cultural workshop led by artist Amil Pedro, who is also a member of the and Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse. Children receive T-shirts and camouflage backpacks with items like a bandana, compass, notepad and pencil. They explore plants, animals and are taught desert-tracking skills. They make lanyards and a walking stick. Kids receive "Cultural Scene Investigator" certificates upon completion. Call or book the package online using code CSI2010. Check-in begins at 4:30 p.m. July 30. A hike at 7 a.m. kicks off the day's events July 31. Check-out time is noon.
