The Kaibab National Forest boasts two great distinctions: It is part of the largest contiguous ponderosa pine forest in the United States and it borders both the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon, a Natural Wonder of the World.

Campgrounds
MAP #1 White Horse
Lake:White Horse I has 50 sites, White Horse II has 42 sites,
tables, fire rings, water faucets, pit toilets, no hookups, garbage
bins, all sites have some level of accessibility.
Popular stocked lake, fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking,
and wildlife watching. No swimming. Power boats are limited to
single electric motors of 1HP or less.
Reservations for group sites must be made 2 days in advance and be
for 2 nights on weekends Ð 3 nights on holidays.
Elevation: 6600 feet
Season: May 1 to October 31
Directions: 19 miles southeast of Williams. From Williams go
south on 4th St. (FR 173, Perkinsville Road) and go 9 miles to FR
110; turn left onto FR 110; go about 7 mi. and turn left onto FR
109; follow to campground entrance (about 3 mi.). Paved and
all-weather gravelled roads are suitable for passenger cars.

MAP #2 Dogtown Lake: 52
campsites, picnic tables, fire rings, small boat-launch ramp, pit
toilets, water faucet sscattered throughout the campground, sewage
dump station. 1 group site.
Picnicking, hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing and boating. Power
boats are limited to single electric motors of 1HP or less.
Elevation: 7050 feet
Season: May 1 to October 31
Directions: About 6.5 miles southeast of Williams. From
Williams turn south on Fourth Street (FR 173-Perkinsville Rd.) for
3.5 miles to Forest Road 140. Turn left on FR 140 and continue for
3 miles to FR 132; turn left onto FR 132 and follow it to Dogtown
Lake. The roads are paved and gravelled for all-weather use;
however, they are usually closed by snow during winter months.

MAP #3 Cataract Lake 18
single unit sites, table, fire rings, pit toilet, garbage bins,
drinking water available but limited, cement boat ramp but no dump
station. Picnicking, hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing and boating.
No swimming. Boats with either single electric or gasoline motors
up to 8 horsepower only.
Elevation: 6800 feet
Season: May 1 to October 31
Directions:About 1 mile northwest of Williams on Cataract
Lake Road. From I-40 take exit 161; turn right onto Golf Course
Drive if coming from the east, or left if coming from the west.
After, passing under the railroad tracks, turn right immediately
and go about 1 mile to the campground entrance on your left. The
road is paved.

MAP #4 Kaibab Lake: 72 single
unit sites, tables, fire rings, 2 campsites accessible for
handicapped individuals, pit toilets, garbage bins, water faucets
scattered throughout the area and fee dump station available.
Stocked lake, picnicking, hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing and
boating. No swimming. No boat motors larger than 8 horsepower
allowed.
Elevation: 6800 feet
Season: May 1 to October 31
Directions: About 4 miles northeast of Williams. From
Williams, take I-40 east 2 miles to Exit 165; turn north onto AZ 64
and go about 2 miles to the campground entrance on your left. Paved
and all-weather gravelled roads are suitable for passenger
cars.

MAP #5 Ten-X: Camping in the
tall pines located just 4.3 miles from the entrance to the Grand
Canyon National Park. 70 spacious campsites available on a
first-come, first-serve basis. 18 are single car spurs and 52 are
pull-through car and trailer sites. Family sites are limited to six
people per site. Larger families may be accommodated at the
discretion of the campground host. All roads and spurs are paved.
Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, barbeque grills,
water, vault toilets, and trash receptacles. There are NO HOOKUPS.
Showers are available in the Grand Canyon National Park
Village.
Fuelwood may be provided by a concessionaire. If not, dead and down
wood may be collected outside the campground, brought back to the
campsite and burned. Reservations for the Charley Tank Group Site
are recommended.
Elevation: 6,650 feet
Season: April 17 through September 30
Directions: Ten-X Campground is located 2 miles south of
Tusayan and 47 miles north of Williams on U.S. Highway 180/State
Highway 64.
