Santa Catalina Ranger District
The Coronado National Forest consists of 12, widely scattered mountain ranges called "sky islands." The Santa Catalina Ranger District, skirting Tucson, offers 230 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. There are numerous campgrounds and picnic areas, plus skiing and snowboarding at Ski Valley.

MAP #1 Molino Campground
Location: Catalina Highway, 4.2 miles past National Forest
boundary.
Elevation: 4,370 ft.
Camping: 37 units, tables, fire rings, restroom, no
hook-ups, trailers and RVs under 22', host.

MAP #2 General Hitchcock Campground
Location: Catalina Highway, 12 miles past the forest
boundary.
Elevation: 5,920 ft.
Camping: 11 units, tables, grills, restroom, no garbage
service, carry out everything.

MAP #3 Rose Canyon Lake
Location: Catalina Highway north, 17.5 miles past the forest
boundary.
Elevation: 7,200 ft.
Camping: 74 single-family units, tables, grills, restrooms,
water, tents, trailers to 22', small RVs permitted, camp store,
amphitheater, host.
Season: May through October.
Lake: 7-acre lake, fishing, nature trail, no boats or
swimming.

Campground
Location: 6 miles southeast of Oracle, on FR 38.
Camping: 19 units, tables, fire rings, restrooms, water,
host.
