Overview: Good fishing and excellent views of the San
Francisco Peaks with campsites huddled in a picturesque stands of
gnarly old juniper trees and pinyon pines. Ashurst Lake is stocked
with trout, bass and channel catfish and boasts enough wind to
attract a fairly large following of windsurfers. Bald eagles and
osprey can also be seen in the area.
Directions: From Flagstaff, drive south 19 miles on Forest
Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road) then east about 4 miles on Forest Road
82E. 
Facilities: 25 singles unit sites. Picnic tables, fire
rings, and cooking grills, drinking water, toilets, boat ramp on
the lake's west side. Tents and small motor homes under 22' are
permitted.
Rating: Very popular.
Elevation: 7,000 feet.
Season: April - October.
Fee: Call for current fees.
